About neighbor AI characters

The neighbor lives across the hall, upstairs or next door, which makes every meeting a small coincidence: a borrowed ladder, a package at the wrong door, an elevator conversation that runs longer than either of you planned. They are fictional adults invented by AI, 18 or older, with a backstory of their own and shared interests to discover. They share a building with you, not a household, so every visit starts with a knock.

Choose by where the story starts. The one-line hook sets up how you cross paths, whether on a balcony or in a stairwell, and the profile tells you who is behind the door before you knock. Filters can narrow the list by age, style and personality, so you can pick a neighbor at your own stage of life or someone with a different energy. Explore lists everyone if you want to compare.

Knocking costs nothing: you can send 10 messages as a guest, then sign up and keep the chat, and a free account then gets 30 a day. A neighbor is someone you run into again, which is where memory notes help: your name and favorite things are kept, and you can edit or delete them whenever you want. Set a scene in the chat, a power outage or a rooftop evening, and the character plays it.

Questions, answered

How does a neighbor story begin?
With a small, ordinary moment. Reply to the hook on the card, or open your own: you hear music through the wall, you need to borrow something, you meet at the mailboxes. The character answers in the tone of its profile, and from there the story goes where you steer it.
Does a neighbor character live near me?
No. Neighbor is a role in the story, not a location. The characters are fictional and generated by AI, so none of them has a real address, and none is a real person living anywhere near you.
What do you talk about with a neighbor character?
Everyday things first: the building, the weather, the café on the corner, a dinner party someone is planning. Because a neighbor is always close by, a short chat can turn into a longer one. Mention what you do and what you like, and the character may pick it up the next time you talk.
Will a neighbor character remember me?
In part. A character keeps short notes about you, your name and tastes among them, so it can greet you as someone it knows next time. The notes are yours to manage in the chat’s memory panel: change one, delete one, or ask the character to forget everything.
Can I chat with a neighbor character without signing up?
Yes. Knock first, sign up later: guests get 10 messages altogether, and the chat carries over when you make an account. After that, 30 messages a day are free, and Premium takes the daily limit away, within a fair-use guard.
